Unreleased Sequel
Upon purchasing a registered copy of Sango Fighter, some consumers received a letter proclaiming Panda's partnership with Apogee to produce a 3D sequel. The letter included a request for player-submitted names, as "Sango Fighter 3D" apparently sounded dumb. It is unknown what level of completion this project ultimately reached, but it was never released in any region.
Violent Confusion
Shareware moguls Apogee were apparently planning to release Sango Fighter in the USA with the working title "Violent Vengeance." Strangely, Violent Vengeance is the original title of a completely different DOS fighter, but a former employee has indicated that Apogee's V.V. was in fact Sango.
At any rate, the deal fell through, and Sango Fighter was supposedly published in the US by Accend (strangely enough, the creators of the "real" Violent Vengeance). This version may have been pulled from shelves or not widely distributed.
More common in the US was the Micro Star shareware release, titled "Sango Street Fighter" on the packaging. This disk featured only Guan Yu and Jang Fei. The full version had to be ordered directly from Panda.
